Translation Providers & API Keys

• DeepL ᴬᴾᴵ
  

  Uses the official DeepL API for high-quality machine translation. DeepL is the recommended and preferred provider, as it is very easy to activate and obtaining a personal API key requires only a few steps. At the time this documentation was created, DeepL also offers a free API plan for developers, making it an excellent option for getting started without additional costs. Usage limits and possible charges depend on the selected DeepL API plan.



• Google Cloud ᴬᴾᴵ
  

  Uses the official Google Cloud Translation API for reliable machine translation. A personal Google Cloud API key is required. Usage limits and possible costs depend on your Google Cloud account and configuration.



• Google Gemini ᴬᴾᴵ
  

  Uses Google Gemini for fast, context-aware translations. By default, gemini-3.5-flash-lite with minimal thinking is used for low-latency translation. A personal Gemini API key is required. Usage limits and possible costs depend on your Google AI account and selected model.



• Azure Translator ᴬᴾᴵ
  

  Uses Microsoft Azure Translator for fast and reliable neural machine translation. A personal Azure Translator API key is required. For regional Azure resources, enter the key together with the resource region using the format APIKEY|REGION, for example YOUR_API_KEY|germanywestcentral. Global Translator resources can use the API key without a region. Microsoft currently offers a free F0 plan with up to 2 million characters per month for standard translations. • Google Web ᴮᴱᵀᴬ
  

  Translate uses an unofficial workaround instead of the official Google Translate API. No API key is required, but availability cannot be guaranteed. Google may change, restrict or disable this method at any time, which can cause translations to stop working temporarily or permanently. If Google temporarily blocks the request, an error such as “Too Many Requests” (HTTP 429) may appear. For more reliable translations, we recommend using our “Auto Translate Engine” Plugin with your own official Google Translate API key.

How it works

1. Select any text in Windows and press your configured Stream Deck key.
2. Auto Translate automatically copies the selected text, sends it to your configured translation provider, and translates it into your selected target language.
3. The translated text is automatically stored in your Windows Clipboard and is immediately ready to use anywhere with CTRL+V.
4. Optional: Enable Auto Paste to automatically replace the originally selected text with the translated result — no manual pasting required.
5. Optional: Enable the Smart Window to instantly display the translated text in a dedicated floating window. Perfect for reading, reviewing, or comparing translations without replacing the original text.
