Precision Positioning System for Laser and CNC Applications

The LASER & CNC MATRIX FIXTURE PLATE (3D Printing/CNC CAD Files) is a modular positioning system for laser machines, CNC routers, engraving machines, and other precision manufacturing applications.

The uniform 10 mm hole grid allows workpieces to be quickly aligned and positioned with repeatable accuracy using positioning pins. This enables precise setups without having to measure and manually align each workpiece again.

The CAD file-set includes two different pin heights:

  • 3 mm support pins lift the workpiece above the plate and provide a stable support surface.
  • 5 mm positioning pins serve as lateral stops for precise right-angle alignment.

When combined, the workpiece rests on the 3 mm pins, while the taller 5 mm pins define its exact position. This suspended setup creates clearance between the workpiece and the matrix plate while allowing identical workpieces to be positioned quickly and with repeatable accuracy.

Two Plate Versions

3 mm Matrix Plate

This version is designed for use with the standard support and positioning pins. Depending on the intended application and manufacturing process, the pins can be made from aluminum or plastic.

5 mm Matrix Plate with Optional M5 Threads

In this version, all grid holes have a 4.2 mm tapping diameter. This allows an M5 thread to be cut into any required position. Additional stops, clamps, brackets, and other threaded components can therefore be mounted wherever needed.

The CAD files are intended for independent manufacturing or production by a CNC machining or 3D printing service provider. Manufacturing costs, dimensional tolerances, materials, machine compatibility, and the quality of the finished components depend on the selected manufacturing process and service provider.

When used with a laser machine, the pin material must be suitable for the laser type, power level, generated heat, and workpiece material being processed.
