Run Stream Deck Software Permanently as Administrator
HOW IT WORKS
The lightweight console tool StreamDeckAdminStartup.exe configures StreamDeck.exe to launch through Windows Task Scheduler. This allows the Stream Deck software to start automatically with administrator privileges at Windows logon without displaying an additional UAC prompt.
Option [1] – Enable Administrator Startup
- Disables the existing standard Stream Deck startup entry in the Windows Registry
- Backs up the original Registry startup entry so it can be restored later
- Creates the VIVRE-MOTION Stream Deck Elevated Startup task with highest privileges in Windows Task Scheduler
Option [2] – Disable Administrator Startup
- Removes the VIVRE-MOTION Stream Deck Elevated Startup task from Windows Task Scheduler
- Restores the previously backed-up standard Stream Deck startup entry in the Windows Registry
- Stream Deck will subsequently start again with standard user privileges
Option [3] – Check Startup Status
- Checks whether Option [1] or Option [2] is currently active
- Verifies the Windows Task Scheduler task and the standard Registry startup entry
- Displays a warning if the startup configuration is incomplete or inconsistent
Important Warning
This tool modifies Windows Registry startup entries and scheduled tasks. Successful installation or restoration cannot be guaranteed on every system due to individual Windows permissions, security policies, or third-party security software.
Always use Option [3] after making changes to verify the current startup configuration. When Stream Deck runs with administrator privileges, its plugins and child processes may also inherit elevated permissions.
