Key Features

If there’s one thing to get out of this review, it’s that the value of the MX Creative Console is in its two-tool design. You’re not overwhelmed with countless buttons you won’t use, and instead have access to the beloved keypad design as well as an independent dialpad.

The keypad has 9 full color LCD buttons you can customize with Logitech’s default royal purple icons or your own choice of fun Loupedeck or Logitech compatible icon packs. Adjustable keeps it from being too disruptive while you work, and two paging buttons make it easier to navigate an endless number of page configurations. The detachable cable is easier to travel with, and the fixed-angle stand even has a built-in cable router to keep your workspace free from clutter.

The dial pad is where the MX Creative Console really rounds out. The large free-spinning dial feels nice in the hand, and there’s even a free-spinning roller on the top left for more navigation options. There are only 4 buttons on the dial pad, but they’re fully-customizable and balance out the dialpad nicely.

While the dialpad requires 2 AAA batteries to run, Logitech swears these should last around 18 months. The free-standing design is preferable to a tethered setup and you can arrange the two however feels best for you.

Advantages of the Logitech MX Creative Console

The Logitech MX Creative Console is customizable enough to tackle whatever you throw at it, but it has a few strengths that may make it a better choice for certain situations, including:

  • Many existing plug-in integrations, particularly with Adobe products
  • Intuitive implementation
  • Endless customization on both pads

  • Understanding its true potential is integral to getting the most out of your productivity tools.

    Many Plug-In Integrations

While you can theoretically use the MX Creative Console with any application, it’s nice to have plenty of existing plug-ins to utilize and streamline your experience.

The MX Creative Console is definitely targeted at Adobe creatives, and Logitech even offers a 3 month Adobe Creative membership with your console purchase. You’ll find plenty of profiles already set up for apps like:

  • Lightroom Classic
  • Illustrator
  • Premiere
  • After Effects
  • Photoshop

  • You can get plenty of use from the paired consoles even if you’ve never touched an Adobe product, though. From VLC media player to Spotify for our music aficionados, all your beloved programs are already accounted for.

This also includes major Smart Home brands like Philips Hue and streaming staples like OBS, Twitch, Streamlabs, and vMix.

    Easy Implementation

It might seem like you’re at a disadvantage using two separate devices, but the learning curve is manageable thanks to intuitive default profiles and use of proven software from the Loupedeck era.

Many note that the default Adobe profiles are decently intuitive, and you may not even want to remap them once you get a feel for them. The generic icons are another story, so it’s always nice to have flashy animated options like color flows or alien signals to really establish your vibe.

You’re looking at a heavier workload if you have more custom key mappings or shortcuts outside of those easy integrations, but the software has no problem walking you through it. It can be a bit more tedious, but it’s well worth getting the productivity powerhouse you need.

    Unique Two-Part Customization

If you’re not a fan of dial pads you have no business with the MX Creative Console, but those who are are bound to love it. The two-part design may seem like overkill, but it actually feels natural swapping from one tool to the other, depending on what you’re trying to do.

The separate design actually works really well–you can have the devices side by side or split them up. For example, lefties may love the opportunity to put the keypad on the left for smart switching while leaving the dial pad on the right for more isolated precision controls.

The dial pad’s action ring is where it really shines, particularly if you’re already navigating with your mouse and need to pull up that tool set to really power through.

There are also plenty of tutorials on how you can map numpads and dial pads to really pull through on games like CS2, so this setup can really tie everything together. Streamline your Microsoft 365 workflow for your job and create another profile for your post-work hobbies, and you’re bound to get your money’s worth.
